We were charmed by this house.  It’s a beautifully renovated thatched house in the heart of one of the prettiest villages on the gorgeous Roseland Peninsula.  It's across from the village park and pond that is home to ducks and geese.  It’s a lush, green area, very picturesque, very Cornwall.

Enter through the lemony-green front door into a slate-floored entrance hall.  The kitchen, straight ahead, has a 5-burner Smeg electric range, dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, washer, dryer, black granite counter tops, white cupboards.  The dining table has six fine wicker chairs.  Beautiful black and white photos of local gardens hang on the walls.  French doors open onto a stone patio that has garden furniture and a barbecue.  The private garden has beautiful flower borders and a deep lawns. 


To the right of the entrance hall is a guest powder room and, further along, a short corridor leads to the living room.  It’s a long, narrow room that has two sofas, an easy chair, a wood stove in a fireplace, books, very nice art by local artists, windows looking onto the lawn.  A door opens to the front of lawn.  


Through the living room, a door opena to a snug, a small, casual room that has a TV, a video player and a small comfortable sofa.


Upstairs, the master bedroom has a standard double bed with an old iron headboard and foot board.  There is an antique chest of drawers and blue and cream toile du jouy curtains on the  low attic-style windows that look onto the quiet country road.  The en suite bathroom has a shower. 


 


Another bedroom, painted a soft yellow, has a standard double bed with a graceful iron headboard, painted bedside tables, an antique chest of drawers.  Low windows look onto the lawn area.

The third bedroom has twin beds, an oak wardrobe and a mirrored dresser.  Walls are painted pale yellow.  Windows overlook the garden.  The hallway bathroom has a deep tub and hand-held shower, yellow walls and wood wainscoting painted pale lavendar. 



Veryan is famous for its thatched round houses and the beautiful water garden which is opposite the cottage.  The village pub and shop are an easy walk.  Sandy beaches are 1½ miles at Carne and Pendower.  The pretty sailing village of St. Mawes is 8 miles. The incredible Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan and The Tate at St. Ives are all within a 45 minute drive.

There is off-street parking for two cars and ample street parking.  One well-behaved dog might be accepted.  This is a strict non-smoking property.

ACCESSIBILITY NOTICE:
This house is accessible to anyone who can manage interior stairs.  The grounds are flat, as is the walk to the High Street.
