The upper floor of this two-story cottage was once the home of the coachman. The huge ground floor area, which housed the Manor's coaches, is now a comfortable open-plan living room with large windows looking onto the couryard and the patio.  The living/dining room has two long refrectory tables, a sofa and chairs and a fireplace with a gas insert.  There is very nice art and many antiques.  This is the perfect spot for a gathering of friends and family.
 

The large, fully fitted kitchen is a very attractive and functional room with a Belfast sink, solid pine cupboards, a large Bosch refrigerator- freezer and a French door opening onto the courtyard patio.  A bathroom/laundry room is off the other end of the kitchen.

Upstairs, there are 5 bedrooms.  One is an en suite double with a 4-poster bed.  Another double overlooks the pretty courtyard.  This room shares a bathroom with a smaller bedroom with twin beds. 

Up steep stairs, on the next floor, is a room with a double and a single bed, a sofa and a TV.  This bedroom  interconnects with the fifth bedroom, a small double which in turn leads to the third bathroom which has a shower stall. 

The gardens are beautiful.  There are many specimen trees and plants and deep borders that change with the seasons.  The lake is home to swans, heron, ducks,  geese and other waterfowl.  There is a dovecote and a Doomsday watermill dating from 1086.  The village church, with its ancient graveyard, is next door.
 

The outdoor pool, heated in July and August, is open during daylight hours with a quiet time set aside each mid-day for elderly or "shy" guests to enjoy the pool in relative quiet.  There is an all-weather tennis court, croquet, table tennis and a billiard room (adults only, please).
 

GARDEN STUDIO  is accessible to travelers with  moderate mobility limitations.  It will accommodate a small wheelchair.  All of the other cottages are accessible to those who can manage stairs.  The level paths are loose gravel.
