3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms Epsom Cottage was originally home to the estate’s grooms. The quarry-tiled entrance hall opens into the large, bright sitting/dining room. The comfortable sofa is upholstered in pale blue and cream stripes. A tasteful flower print is on the two easy chairs and soft red velvet on the wing chair. The coffee table, also an ottoman, is covered in a Kilem rug. The floor rug is also a Kilem. |

The dining area
has an antique mahogany table to seat 6. There is an oak serving
table, two writing tables,
a bookcase and upholstered window seats. Prints, books and
flower-printed
china contribute to the atmosphere of a cherished home.

The sophisticated kitchen, on the other side of the entry hall, has blue and white plates and wall tiles, natural pine cabinets, a plate rack, a Belfast sink and a window that overlooks the garden. |

Upstairs, there are three bedrooms.

One has a splendid
carved 18th C. 4-poster double bed with pink and white linen.
The walls
are
color-washed in pale pink. The bright white-tiled en suite
bathroom
has a shower.
The second bedroom
has twin beds with antique red fabric headboards, blue and creme wall
covering,
antique bedside tables and chest of drawers.

| The third bedroom has a single, white-painted faux bamboo 4-poster bed, an 18th C. pine washstand with running water. Prints, antiques, little touches make this a very special haven. These two bedrooms share a roomy, attractive bathroom that has a tub with shower over tub. |

This is a very
popular cottage, in part because of its lovely private garden just off
the kitchen. There’s a vine and rose-covered pergola from which
you
can enjoy the wide borders blooming in every shade of pink, white and
crimson.
