This 2-story cottage, opposite the Stables, is located just through the stable block's  dramatic entrance arch.

The pretty living room has bow windows, an antique pine fireplace with a gas stove insert, beamed ceilings, nice, comfortable furniture and fabrics with traditional designs.  The dining room has two tables that can seat up to 16.

The excellent kitchen, on two levels,  has a  Belfast sink, pine cupboards, antique touches.  The  breakfast area has a door leading onto the courtyard which allows for dining outside.
 

Upstairs , the former hay loft has 3 bedrooms, one with a double bed and nice cupboards, one with twin beds and one, on the top floor, with a double bed and two single beds.  All rooms have floral fabrics and nice antiques.  There are two hallway bathrooms on this level, one with a shower.

The gardens are beautiful.  There are many specimen trees and plants and deep borders that change with the seasons.  The lake is home to swans, heron, ducks,  geese and other waterfowl.  There is a dovecote and a Doomsday watermill dating from 1086.  The village church, with its ancient graveyard, is next door.
 

The outdoor pool, heated in July and August, is open during daylight hours with a quiet time set aside each mid-day for elderly or "shy" guests to enjoy the pool in relative quiet.  There is an all-weather tennis court, croquet, table tennis and a billiard room (adults only, please).
 

GARDEN STUDIO  is accessible to travelers with  moderate mobility limitations.  It will accommodate a small wheelchair.  All of the other cottages are accessible to those who can manage stairs.  The level paths are loose gravel.
