This
is a spacious 16th Century thatched barn in the village of Stelling
Minnis,
near Canterbury. We were immediately impressed with the steep
thatched
roof of the barn and the beautiful expanse of pasture land that
surrounds
the buildings. It's a beautiful, bucolic setting. |

Recently renovated with great care, this home has had much attention paid to its details and has maintained the original character if a barn. One enters into a large open area that has a dining room and sitting room. There are oak floors, exposed beams, whitewashed walls, dark oak doors and railings. |

The dining table, under a cathedral ceiling, accommodates six easily. The comfortable sitting room has traditional English country furniture. There's a wood stove, beautiful rugs, comfortable and attractive seating, TV, video player. Views are of the grounds and the woods beyond the lawns. |

| The modern kitchen, off the dining room, is self-contained, but still feels part of the wide entertaining areas. The cook won’t feel isolated from the rest of the group! There are all of the conveniences that one could want to prepare holiday meals. On
the ground level, there is a charming bedroom with twin beds that can
be
pushed together, if you'd like. The en suite bathroom has a
shower. |

A
wide stairway leads to a gallery-type landing. There are two
bedrooms
on this level. Onr has a king bed and one bedroom has twin beds
that
can be pushed together. These bedrooms share a bathroom that has
a tub. |
| There
is a private patio off the sitting room that is perfect for al fresco
meals.
A small lawn at the rear of the cottage provides further outdoor space.

You are welcome to walk on the property. The owners live in a house near the cottage on the property. Baby sitting can be arranged with the owners’ two “sociable” daughters. This is a strict non-smoking property. The owners regret that they are not able to accept dogs.
Stelling
Minnis is a quiet village surrounding an ancient common. The village
has
a pub and small store. There is much to see in the area including
Canterbury Cathedral, Leeds Castle and Howletts Wildlife Park.
Canterbury
is 6 miles from the property. You can take a day trip to
Paris
by boarding the Eurostar from Ashford (20 minutes from the
property).
From Folkstone (20 minutes), you can take your car on the ferry to
Calais
(35 minutes).

property is accessible to travelers who have moderate mobility
limitations
since it has a bedroom and shower on the main floor. There are
two
steps into the house.
