Unless you have been to the Connemara, that strip of land north of Galway and between the Atlantic and Lough Corrib, you can't imagine its almost surreal beauty.  It's ancient land, wet, unspoiled and lush, home to a variety of birds and fowl.  This historic building was once the home to dragoons, the estate manager of "Humanity" Dick Martin and later a maharajah.   It is on the shores of Ballynahinch Lake, overlooked by the Twelve Bens Mountains, approached by a private drive.

Recently restored, this building retains much of the original stonework and its four corner towers and now provides luxury apartments set around a central courtyard.  Each apartment is privately owned and furnished.  We are pleased to offer several of these apartments as holiday rentals.
 

All apartments have fireplaces.  Master bedrooms have private bathrooms.  Kitchens are fully equipped.  The apartments in the towers are particularly  spacious.  The largest of these tower apartments combines with the neighboring apartment to provide accommodation for ten people.  Furnishings are of the highest standard, comfortable, attractive and elegant.

The apartments have views, some of the lake, some of the mountains and one of woodlands to the west.  There is a full sized tennis court.  Guests are invited to stroll on the grounds.  One mile-long nature walk leads to the Ballynahinch Castle Hotel with its fine restaurant, bar and private fishery.  Many outdoor pursuits are close by, including Connemara Golf Club.
