Accommodates 6 3 bedrooms 3 bathrooms, guest powder room This is a luxurious property.  Perfect for people who like finely crafted homes with spare, modern decor.  Located on six acres between the beautiful villages of Kenmare and Sneem, the house  is surrounded by rugged mountains and the tranquillity and natural beauty of Oysterbed Harbour.  It is stunning.

Built in 2002, this post and beam house has everything one could desire.  It is spacious, beautiful and, despite its rather minimalist style, very comfortable. Immediately upon entering the house, the quality and taste are evident.  Italian tiles with under-floor heating cover the entire main floor.  The open plan design allows the public rooms to be seen as a whole; they blend into one another.   High ceilings and Douglas fir beams add warmth to the modernity.

The large, bright kitchen area is equipped with the finest stainless steel appliances, including an 8-burner stove and range hood, granite counter tops, including a breakfast bar for casual meals of for keeping the cook company.  Dishes and other kitchen items have been chosen with care and excellent taste.

Adjacent to the kitchen area, there’s a large laundry room with a washer and dryer and excellent storage space.  A guest powder room is next to the laundry room.
 

The adjacent dining area has a gorgeous side board and wood table and 8 chairs.  The living room area has three modern leather sofas a coffee table and a beautiful stone fireplace.  Two sets of French doors open to the terrace that look outs to the grounds and the Kenmare River beyond the gardens.

A sun room, really a smaller sitting room, is adjacent to the living room.  It has three walls of windows and comfortable chairs.  There is a fireplace in this room also.  It’s all very spectacular.

Upstairs, there are three bedrooms.  The master bedroom has tall beamed ceilings, fine birch furniture, wood floors.  It is spare, but comfortable. The en suite bathroom is luxuriously tiled in beautiful brown and beige mosaics, it has a cast iron tub and large, separate shower. The second bedroom, also a double, has interesting angles and a door to a wood deck that overlooks 5 acres of heather covered mountainside.

The hall bathroom has azure blue mosaic tiles, a large shower and a separate bathtub. The third bedroom, with twin beds, is large and sunny enjoying beautiful views.

Close to Sneem’s shops and pubs, the house is the perfect spot for exploring Kerry and Cork - if you can force yourself to leave the house!  Nearby Kenmare is renowned for its excellent restaurants and shops and there are many art galleries in the area.  Fishing, walking, hill climbing, cycling, horse riding and boating and, of course, golf are all readily accessible.  Killarney Muckross Gardens, Illnacullin Garnish Island Gardens and Bantry House are approximately one hour by car.

This region has scenery that is difficult to equal.  The mountains, sea, lakes and woodland can be seen in varying light and shades, whatever the weather, and because its shore is washed by the Gulf Stream, this region enjoys a mild climate all year.

Shannon is 110 miles.  Cork is 60 miles.  Kenmare is 15 miles.   Killarney is 35 miles.
