is a delightful and refined 3-story town house in a gated community

of the Thames and two blocks from the Kings Road over the Battersea

Enter into a
cream-tiled entrance hall that has a guest powder room to the
left. The sitting/dining room, decorated in traditional English
style, is comfortable, welcoming and very pleasant. The sofa and
easy chairs are covered in English chintz. Custom-made
cabinets hold glassware. There is a TV and video player. A
beautiful area rug accents the cherry floors. There is
carefully chosen art, antiques and other personal items.

A
sliding glass door opens onto the enclosed garden that has outdoor
furniture, a barbecue and adjustable sun awnings.
The large, gracious dining room has a table to seat 6
comfortably. It has two storage cupboards, one an antique, and a
wide window looking onto the patio.

The modern kitchen has tile floors, black granite
countertops, two ovens, a 5 burner
gas
hob, refrigerator/freezer, built-in microwave,
a washer and
dryer. There is a window over the sink.

Upstairs, the well-designed study has a sofa, two
desks, built-in
cupboards, TV, video player, many books, two telephone lines. The
study overlooks the patio, neighborhood gardens and trees.

The
bedroom on this floor has a standard double bed and built-in
cupboards. Colors are rich and original: striped wallpaper in an
eggplant and dusty rose, an eggplant colored duvet cover,
tapestries, a pretty rug and
many personal touches. The adjoining bathroom has a tub and
shower over tub. There is a second bathroom on this level; it has
a shower stall.

The
master bedroom is the entire third floor of the
house. The queen bed has a graceful, hand painted head
board and foot
board. There's an antique chest of drawers and bedside tables, a
wicker settee. Colors
are rich and warm, red, greens, ochre. The ceiling is vaulted and
beamed. The floor is the same
cherry wood that is throughout the house. This is a warm,
comfortable and serene bedroom, romantic without being fussy.
There's a separate dressing room and en suite bathroom that has a
shower stall.

You can walk or run for miles following the
Thames. Just beyond the
corner,
there are several restaurants.
There are antique shops, a post office, news agent/grocery store and
other small shops
including a chemist. As you look toward the
water, you can see the most beautiful
bridge in London, the Albert Bridge, especially lovely at night.

Sir Norman Forster's Albion Riverside is nearby, on
the south
side of the River, and it's quite a sight. Battersea Park is just
down
the street - tennis and bowls are available. Supermarkets Sainsburys, Waitrose and Marks &
Spencer are on the Kings
Road. Battersea
Village has a
charming square with outdoor cafes, a good Indian restaurant, a
Lebanese restaurant, an
Italian restaurant, a pub, a dry cleaner and a beauty salon.
There is easy access to Knightsbridge, Kensington and the West End.
There is secure parking for one car. This is a strict non-smoking property. We regret that this property is not suitable for children. A £750 security deposit is paid on arrival. Heating and electricity are extra. The price includes weekly light cleaning and cleaning on your departure. |
